    Taichiro Morinaga returns to Japan from the United States and opens Morinaga’s Western Confectionery Shop.

    The Company registers the Angel Mark, which symbolizes the corporate philosophy, “Delicious, Fun, and Healthy."

    The Company becomes MORINAGA & CO., LTD.

    Sales of pocket-sized Milk Caramel begin. The product becomes a huge hit. It was a new concept when Taichiro came up with the idea of putting the small pieces of caramel together in one pocket-sized box.

    Morinaga starts to sell domestically produced chocolate, becoming the first "bean-to-bar" manufacturer of chocolate from cacao beans grown in Japan.

    Launch of "Hotcake Mix"
    premixed pancake mix. Bring the taste of restaurant-quality pancakes into the home ー
    It is still enjoyed in homes around Japan after more than 50 years.

    Morinaga concludes a licensing contract with Walt Disney Enterprises Inc., a first for a Japanese company.

    Morinaga launches a major media campaign pairing chocolate gift-giving with Valentine’s Day. Launch of Japan’s first domestically produced instant coffee. Morinaga establishes educational support programs concurrently with participation in the Bellmark Campaign.

    Taiwan Morinaga Co., Ltd. is established. Launch of Angel Pie. Soft marshmallow is sandwiched between two biscuits, then coated with smooth chocolate. The technology that is rooted in the history of Morinaga lives on in the Angel Pie, a simple, yet much-loved snack.

    Hi-CROWN chocolate is launched and becomes a popular product. It caused a sensation among consumers since only bar-type chocolates were available on the market at the time.

    Morinaga operates an “Air Buffet,” a Ferris-wheel-like ride for enjoying snack foods "in mid-air" at the 1970 Osaka Expo.

    Morinaga forms business alliance with America-based Weider Nutrition International Inc.

    Announcement of a new Angel Mark along with Corporate Identity

    Establishment of Morinaga Angel Foundation.

    Launch of Weider in Jelly. It was introduced to the market in a unique squeeze pouch. Again, Morinaga was the first to launch this innovative design.

    Morinaga celebrates its 100th anniversary. The First Little Angel Deserted Island Exploration is held.

    Morinaga commences production of HI-CHEW candy in Shanghai.

    Morinaga forms business alliance with Barry Callebaut.

  40. 2008

    Morinaga America, Inc. is established in the United States. Morinaga kicks off the “1 Choco for 1 Smile” campaign. Acquisition of all the shares of Aunt Stella Inc.

  41. 2009

    The Weider Division is established. The Healthcare Division is established.

    Morinaga (Zhe Jiang) Co., Ltd. is established.

  44. 2011

    Takasaki Morinaga Co., Ltd. is established.

  45. 2012

    Morinaga (Zhe Jiang) Co., Ltd. starts production.

    Launch of Morinaga Chocolate's “1 Choco for 1 Smile.” PT. Morinaga Kino Indonesia is established. Morinaga America Foods, Inc. is established.

  47. 2015

    HI-CHEW and BAKE are certified as Japanese space food.
