The Morinaga Group’s Code of Conduct

The overarching vision (basic philosophy) of the Morinaga Group is to provide customers with a diverse range of "delicious, fun, and healthy" products. Guided by this vision, the Group works diligently to deliver a host of safe eating alternatives while contributing to the health of people around the world. With this in mind, our mission is to bring to the market worthwhile and exciting products, services, and information through corporate activities that are infused with a pioneering spirit.

In carrying out this basic philosophy, we place the greatest value on earning the respect of customers. On this basis, we recognize the importance of building a strong bond of mutual trust.

This bond is necessarily predicated on our ability to deliver the highest quality coupled with customer safety and peace of mind. To this end, we will continue to develop and provide products, services, and information that contribute to society. Each and every member of the Morinaga Group will also place the utmost importance on ensuring that corporate activities comply with the Group’s Code of Conduct as well as statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.     We will adhere strictly to a policy of customer-focused management while placing the utmost priority on developing and providing the highest quality products, services, and information that contribute to society, safety, and peace of mind.

  2. 2. Comply with the Company's Code of Conduct while strictly observing statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements

    We will comply with the Company’s Code of Conduct as well as all statutory, regulatory, internal, and other requirements. With this in mind, we will behave in a common sense manner.

    In addition to maintaining positive lines of communication with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including customers, society, suppliers, business partners, employees, and shareholders, we will ensure the reliability of accounting and financial reports, work diligently to enhance the transparency of management, and disclose corporate information in a proactive and accurate manner.

  5. 5. Protect the environment and contribute to society

    Guided by an environmental philosophy that highlights the need to be "kind to the environment, like an angel," we will incorporate environmental concerns into every facet of our business activities. At the same time, and in a bid to work beyond our role as a good corporate citizen in society, we will position “kindness to people everywhere and the importance of children” at the heart of our everyday endeavors while actively contributing to a society that strives to improve the minds and health of children worldwide.

  6. 6. Abstain from any and all contact with antisocial forces

    We will abstain from any and all contact with and decisively oppose antisocial forces that threaten the order and safety of society.

    We will respect the personalities and individuality of work colleagues and strive to establish a workplace environment that instills a sense of safety, abundance, and comfort.

  8. 8. Practice the Group’s Code of Conduct

    Recognizing that efforts aimed at putting into practice the spirit of this Code of Conduct plays an important role in garnering the trust of customers, Group company officers led by top management will take the initiative to build an effective internal control system and ensure that employees are fully appraised and invested in the Code of Conduct. Steps will also be taken to promptly evaluate and determine any breach of the Code of Conduct. In addition to implementing all appropriate measures including the timely and accurate disclosure of information, energies will be channeled toward uncovering the root causes and carrying out preventive measures. While clarifying responsibilities, Group companies will again take the initiative in ensuring that strict action is taken.
